Any capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy will have the same meaning as those defined in the Terms of Use, unless stated otherwise.

According to our Terms of Use available our services are intended for users above the legal age of majority and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly gather personal information from individuals under 16 years old, including those under 13.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users, whether they are accessing Company Services without creating an account or those who have registered for a Company Service. It covers how we collect and utilize personal information (e.g., your name or email address) as well as our general approach to managing non-personal information (such as interests or demographic details).

By using Company Services, you consent to our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of your information as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

When obtaining a financial product or service through our Services, we will manage and share your information in accordance with our U.S. Consumer Privacy Notice detailed in Section 17, which offers choices regarding the use and sharing of your personal data. Information covered by our Privacy Notice is referred to as Non-Public Personal Information (“NPI”).

A. Information You Provide

The data we collect from you will depend on the specific product or service you request. This may include your username, full name, birth date, phone number, email address, educational background, outstanding loan balances, social security number, income, employment history, and other financial details when you use our Service or create a Violet Advance account. We may collect any voluntarily provided information through forms, responses, or preferences indicated during your interaction with our Service or through our customer service representatives.

If you provide information about others, you must have authorization to do so and for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy and/or related to the Service.

We may also retain communications through the Service, including customer service interactions (via phone, chat, text, email, etc.), and any User Content you post. Calls made through Violet Advance or involving Violet Advance may be recorded or monitored for quality assurance, customer service, training, and risk management purposes.

If you choose to participate in user experience surveys and consent to recording, we or our third-party service providers may record audiovisual content featuring your voice and likeness for service improvement purposes.

B. Automatically Collected Information

In addition to data you provide directly, we may automatically gather information about your use of the Service, including:

  • Log File Information: Your browser reports certain details each time you access the Service, which our servers may record. This includes your web request, IP address, browser type, operating system, platform, location data, and interactions with the Service, among other details.

We may employ third-party advertising technologies to deliver relevant content and ads both on our Service and across other websites and applications you use. Please note that advertisers may request Violet Advance to target specific user groups based on demographics or interests. In such cases, Violet Advance determines the audience and serves the ad accordingly, while providing only aggregated, anonymized data to the advertiser. If you interact with such an ad, the advertiser or ad server may infer that you match their intended audience profile.

We do not control the use of cookies or tracking technologies by third-party ad technologies, ad servers, ad networks, or other non-affiliated entities. These parties may provide options to opt out of ad targeting. If you encounter tailored ads through your web browser, you can manage these preferences by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative or Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out links. Please be aware that even if you opt out, you may still receive advertisements, though they will not be tailored to your interests. We do not oversee the functionality or participation in these opt-out mechanisms and are not responsible for their accuracy or availability.

4. Do Not Track Signals

Some web browsers have a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites indicating that you do not want to be tracked. Currently, we do not respond to DNT signals. For more information on DNT.

5. Use of Your Information

We may use your information, or combine various elements of it, for several purposes, including:

  • Service Provision and Management: We use your information to provide, enhance, and maintain our Service and its features, including customization based on the data you provide.

  • Best Rate Guarantee Program: We manage our Best Rate Guarantee Program using your information.

If you provide information to a Provider or third-party, their privacy policies apply. Providers may retain your information according to their policies. We may share information with co-signers or applicants as needed.
  • Affiliates: We may share your information with our parent company, affiliates, or subsidiaries.
  • Service Providers: We may share data with third-party service providers who assist us with customer service, advertising, analytics, identity verification, credit reporting, and other functions.

Keeping Your Information Safe

Violet Advance employs technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access. These measures vary based on the sensitivity of the information collected. However, no transmission method over the Internet or mobile device, or method of electronic storage, can be guaranteed as absolutely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Violet Advance is not responsible for the functionality or security measures of third parties or Providers.

To enhance your privacy and security, we implement procedures such as requiring unique passwords to verify your identity before granting account access. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information and for managing access to your email communications from Violet Advance . Please do not share your password and limit access to your devices by logging out after use.

8. Your Choices About Your Information

A. Your Account Information and Settings

You can update your account information at any time by logging into your account and changing your profile settings. You may also contact us at melnik@violetadvance.org to adjust your preferences.

B. Email Promotions

To stop receiving promotional emails from us, click the “unsubscribe” link provided in those communications. We strive to process all unsubscribe requests promptly. Note that you cannot opt out of Service-related communications (e.g., account verification, transaction updates, feature changes, and security notices). C. Opt-Out and Annual Notice

If you have a financial product or service with us, we will use and share information according to our U.S. Consumer Privacy Notice (section 17), which includes options to opt out of certain information sharing.

9. How Long We Keep Your User Content

After terminating or deactivating your account, Violet Advance may retain your profile information and User Content for a period of time for backup, archival, audit, or other purposes. As a financial services provider, Violet Advance must comply with federal and state regulations requiring the retention of certain information. This means we may be unable to delete your information until the legally required retention period ends.

10. Children's Privacy

Violet Advance does not knowingly collect information from individuals under 13 years of age or allow such persons to register as Users. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe we might have collected information from a child under 13.

11. Links to Other Websites and Services

We are not responsible for the practices of websites or services linked to or from the Service, including their content. When you use a link to navigate from our Service to another site, our Privacy Policy no longer applies. Your interactions on third-party websites or services, including those with links or advertisements on our site, are governed by the third-party's privacy policies. Additionally, we are not responsible for the security or functionality of third parties that you authorize to access your User Content. If you use a third-party site or service and allow such access, you do so at your own risk. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy do not apply to those third-party sites.

12. Your California Shine the Light Law Rights

Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, the “Shine The Light” law, California residents can request, once per year, information about the personal information (if any) we have shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes in the past year.
